What is college teaching degree ?

    

‘Teaching’ is becoming an increasingly popular profession these days. Formerly, becoming a teacher was not that much of a demanding job but as the era of extreme competition has prevailed, teaching at college level has become challenging.

College teaching degree has eventually gained both trend and a wider acceptance. Children at the age of college life are very frail & frenzied and can easily be manipulated for their own and nation’s good. Tackling them is not a cup of tea! A College teaching degree aims at laying out the policies and proceedings required to endow the potential college teachers with the right kind of skills, attitude, awareness and expertise that they will be expected to deliver in college teaching endeavors. Graduates who intend to become college teachers tend to pursue long 5- year programs or short 6- month diplomas e.g. Master of Arts in Teaching Program (M.A.T), Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL), Outdoor Education (OE) etc. for individuals seeking leadership positions like that of College Principle have a college teaching degree that imparts firm pedagogical handiness and competence in learning theories.
Post Bachelor’s Teaching Licensure, Career & Technical Educators’ Authorization program, masters of Education etc are some of the prominent college teaching degrees taught in various universities with slight differences in designations. If you aim at teaching a special area in college, you are required to have your college teaching degree specialization e.g. Level 3 vocational qualification in a certain subject of interest e.g. NVQ, BTEC National Diploma etc. The criterion is subject to change with respect to country, culture, policy & law and institution of Education.
